The balloon is a symbol carrying emotions, which may be tension, anxiety, fear, etc., it may be light or heavy, and it represents hope and new life. The balloon series is a derivative series following Paradise. In this series, I tend to explore the tension of space, such as the claustrophobic and unmanned space with "boundaries", such as swimming pools, elevators, buses, hospitals, corridors, and other worlds.
In this group of works, I explored different forms of balloons, which can be a warning sign, an oxygen cylinder to keep us alive, or a vehicle to take us away from reality to utopia. When we are all confined to "liminal space" and fail to find the outlet of reality and mind, our everyday life is, actually, in search of a true place to belong.
